Group Study Abroad: U.S. Outbound

Outbound health coverage.

For students, faculty and staff.

Our plans support students’ global learning goals.

Study abroad programs build a global mindset. And help your school stay competitive. But sending people far from home (many for their first time ever) also means making sure they’re protected.

We give students everything they need to feel safe, secure and in control. Which helps make international life easier for students and administrators.

  • Global network provides cashless access to care. Members can choose from a large direct pay network of healthcare providers outside the U.S.
  • Digital tools help members manage their health. They can find care, show their ID card and arrange Direct Pay. They can also look up medicine equivalents and get news and safety alerts.
  • Commitment to service is 24/7/365. We help coordinate care, provide solutions and help members feel at ease.

Coverage that’s just right.

We can help design the right plan for your institution’s needs.

Plans include flexible annual medical coverage limits and deductibles. Plans meet visa requirements and include services that only come with an international health plan.

Mental health matters.

This may be the first time students travel outside the U.S. for more than just a week’s vacation. Exciting? Of course! But it can come with some challenges.

Students aren’t used to their host country or how healthcare works there. They’ll need help finding doctors who provide the type of care they’re used to. This is especially important for pre-existing conditions.

They’ll also likely go through culture shock as they find their way. Language barriers and financial concerns can be hard to deal with. And while most students will feel homesick for a while, some may experience bigger mental health issues.

That’s why our plans include both mental health and medical support. We’re here to help students navigate and overcome these challenges so they can stay focused on their studies.

Our members are on the move. And our digital tools let them access care wherever their travels take them. The Member Portal and mobile app provide 24/7/365 access to plan information and so much more.

Real-time safety alerts keep members in the know about their new host country. Members can find providers, submit claims and explore wellness resources. They can use translation tools. And they can even access telemedicine services—all through their phone or tablet.
